That’s why we narrowed down this list of Outer Banks house rentals to our favorites. These VRBO rentals can be found in all towns like Corolla, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and beyond!

Gar Brooks

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

This 725 square foot cottage has simple beach access right along main street. The premier hosts of this vacation home have built the cottage around weekly rentals. All summer long, the house is available for rent from Friday to Friday to be your family vacations next headquarters.

Two bedrooms and one bathroom accommodate up to six people, and the kitchen comes equipped with enough of the basics to whip up some quality meals. While home chefs may not love the kitchen space, most of us don’t want to do all of our cooking on vacation anyways, and the central location invites plenty of chances to eat out.

The beach in front of the property has a lifeguard station and plenty of restaurant and shopping options to allow the whole family to roam freely.

Next Door To The Shore

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

An absolute fantastic Outer Banks house rental in Corolla! There’s space for the whole brigade at Ocean Sands. This Oceanside fun house sleeps 14 people with a private pool and spa for a big vacation with some serious style. Everybody can park their cars on site and forget about their keys, as everything Corolla has to offer within walking distance from the sands, especially the beach.

Groceries, shopping, golf, and more are within the neighborhood. The house is a three-minute walk from the beach, which gives the sunscreen just enough time to set in. Spacious rooms are filled with amenities. An added game room has a pool table and minifridge, and the surrounding community has tennis and basketball courts.

Ocean Sands has room for everyone and has enough extra activities going on you’ll have trouble fitting everything into your next week at the beach.

Horse Inn Around

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

The only way to get to this quaint Inn is by driving through 10 miles of untouched 4X4 beach. It’s impossible not to get into the spirit of this vacation, as the last steps leading up to the house will be free of traffic and provide 360-degree beach views.

Once you’re home, there will be plenty of natural sights to gaze upon from the deck and hot tub, from wild horses in the morning to immaculate stars at night. The kitchen takes care of the details and goes as far as to include a crab pot to make sure you’ve got everything you need.

Carolina Sunshine

There’s nothing finer than North Caroliner’s sunshine, and this condo has three bedrooms to ensure the whole family can soak it all in. The homey design feels comfy without feeling too cliche, and an on-site swimming pool, gazebo, deck area, and charcoal grill allow the activities to plan themselves.

Rodanthe By The Sea

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

One of the cutest Outer Banks beach rentals can be found in Rodanthe. Rodanthe is the laid-back center of the Outer Banks, a bridge away from the hustle and bustle of Nags Head. This quirky condo embodies Rodanthe vibrations by providing everything beach lovers need for a relaxing week.

Your condo will be in the prime position for magnificent sunsets, sunrises, and spending the whole day at the beach. Right across the street, you’ll find pizza, ice cream, and all the beach supplies you could need. There’s not a whole lot going on in Rodanthe, but that’s why people love it. You’ll be at the center of this one-street town, surrounded by everything you came with and not much hubbub.

OBX Treehouse

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

One of my favorite Outer Banks beach house rentals! You won’t get much closer to the tranquility of the Outer Banks Dune-y shoreline than this rounded treehouse in the sand. On the precipice of the coastline, two bedrooms sleep seven people for an unforgettable week in Avon.

Avon is a thin slice of land surrounded by sound and the sea, and this vacation home sits on the northern edge of town with protected dunes as your closest neighbors. All this lush scenery doesn’t come at the expense of convenience.

Gym lovers can keep their routine going at the neighborhood gym that offers yoga on the beach, and a 55″ smart TV will give you plenty of enjoyment on a rainy day. The only complaint most guests have after a vacation here is that it wasn’t long enough!

Totally Beachin

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

The north end of the Outer Banks is miles and miles of 4X4 beach open for exploration, and this totally ‘beachin’ three-story pad brings you to the beach’s doorstep. Seven beds sleep 11, and the game room with a foosball table entertains everybody after a day in the water.

The surrounding neighborhood has private beach access, a playground, basketball courts, and community fishing. Just two minutes north is the entrance to Carova Beach’s wild horse sanctuary. The top floor boasts penthouse deck space perfect for grilling, and the full kitchen on the interior is ready for a special dinner.

Pierview 201

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

Grab your slice of private beach at this centrally located condo within easy reach of Jennette’s Pier, the first and foremost pier on North Carolina’s seashore. The property provides easy reach to a beach that’s always uncrowded, and all new amenities and kitchen appliances inside make the space feel like home.

It’s close to everything but with enough space for your family to enjoy a private week at the beach.

 Flip-Flop Time

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

More than just a fresh paint job, this condo has recently undergone upgrades and renovations that firmly plant it as one of the best vacation homes on the Outer Banks. A newly envisioned oceanfront master suite has a new shower and king-sized bed, and space for the flip-flops by the door.

The other bedroom combines to provide space for six in total with beach access for everyone. In a residential section of Kill Devil Hills, this condo is perfect for those who want a quieter week at the beach but still want to meet the neighbors.

Carova Cottage

Pet-friendly and mixed in with the wild horses, this Carova Cottage is a single-family home on an unspoiled beach with not much else around besides you and the deep blue sea. You’ll need a 4X4 car to access the property, but once you’re here, you’ll be able to roam freely amongst your private dunes.

Way off the beaten path, this wild cottage’s most frequent visitors are Carova’s wild horses. A galley-style kitchen and family room provide food and entertainment to the whole family. The three bedrooms sleep up to nine, so the kids can bring a friend or two.

Turtle Tides

Penthouse, oceanfront, downtown, and luxurious, Turtle Tides is a fantastic choice for a romantic getaway. You can walk to dinner, walk to the beach, and watch dolphins splash in the surf from the upstairs balcony. Don’t forget to leave some time for a splash in the downstairs pool!

Inside, a newly renovated bathroom and living area boast a relaxing aqua theme that mirrors the beachy vibes around the condo. A full kitchen and seating for four give you plenty of resources for entertaining, and a pull-out sofa in the living room allows the apartment to sleep four.  If you are looking for an Outer Banks oceanfront rentals this one is for you!

Flying Monkey

The Flying Monkey has held onto its roots while steadily renovating to provide a unique beach vacation experience. The home has its origins in the early ’70s, and the owners have consciously committed to keeping the retro feel of the cottage while providing modern amenities.

It can sleep six people across three bedrooms. A master suite through the property’s back door allows mom and dad to find some privacy while still providing a vacation for the whole family.

A backyard with a hammock and a hot tub lets you relax in style while listening to the waves crash 500 feet away. If you want a vacation home with its roots deep in the local community, the Flying Monkey is an excellent space for your trip.

Hatteras Heaven

Relax in luxury just moments away from the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Hatteras Heaven is operated by professional real estate agents who understand the devil is in the details. They have gone out of their way to supply this condo with the comforts of home.

Four coffee machines guarantee a perfect roast, and the exterior deck chairs are an ideal place to enjoy your morning cup. When it’s time to head to the beach, you’ll have a private boardwalk to waltz through, flanked by the dunes. Nearby is one of the most famous OBX lighthouses.

With a reading library, 50″ plasma TV, and even a retro Nintendo 64, you’ll enjoy your time in and outside of this little slice of heaven.

Sea Ya Round

It’s hard to unpack all the puns in the name of this quirky destination, but it will be even harder to pack up your things at the end of your stay here. The roundhouse sleeps eight deep in the heart of Carova Beach. Guests can expect unique neighbors while having breakfast on the gazebo – the famous wild horses are known to roam through the yard here.

A 4X4 vehicle is required to enter this property which is eight miles into the lush sand of the drivable beach. A truly unique vacation experience, you can’t get more into the mix of wild ocean breezes than at this lush vacation home.

Genesis On the Water

Four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms overlook the sea in this two-story property with a dream location. In the downtown Rodanthe village, you can find plenty of excitement in town and then take the fun back to your place with an included ‘great room’ for entertaining.

Every room in this vacation home has a TV, but your family’s eyes will be glued to the views outside the windows.

Wind Dreamin’

The other side to the beauty of Outer Banks is a magnificent sound blocking the area from the mainland, and this five-bedroom house is backed up onto its shores. If you’re heading to OBX to enjoy the plethora of watersports, you can have all the fun under the sun from your front doorstep.

If you want a more secluded vacation in the Outer Banks, Wind Dreamin’ gives you an entirely private slice of the Pamlico Sound.

Writer’s Retreat

Get inspired at this oceanfront two-bedroom, two-bathroom paradise. The master bedroom has unparalleled oceanfront deck access, and everyone will have access to the plethora of local attractions within walking distance.

Nags Head will be within your reach, but this piece of solitude built as a muse for its original owner has enough of its charm to last the whole vacation.

Wherever you decide your outer banks NC house rentals we’re positive you’ll love it!
