This 67-acre eco-retreat offers all the iconic outdoor Asheville adventures right at your fingertips. It’s easily accessible just off the Blue Ridge Parkway and is surrounded by Pisgah National Forest, only a few miles from the coveted Craggy Gardens, which is one of the best Asheville hikes.

Smoky Mountain Glamping
Enjoy a charming creekside tent in the stunning Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. Custom 12×17 canvas accommodations are available here, and each features a wooden porch with 6’ of cover overhead.

For some fancy camping, you’ll never forget, venture out to Raven Ridge Farm. They have the cutest handcrafted cabin that sits high on the mountainside.
The sweeping vistas look out over the verdant pastures of the 20-acre farm as well as some of the highest peaks in the Appalachian. It’s stunning, to say the least. It’s 320 square feet and two stories tall, and it’s only a short trip from Asheville, set right next to the quaint town of Marshall.
Everything down to the outhouses here is charming, with a delightful attention to detail. With such a stellar location, there’s a wide array of activities available on-site or right nearby including hiking, fishing, biking, climbing, swimming, and paddling.
Start the day off right by watching the sunrise from the front porch and enjoy some of their unique agrotourism adventures like tree identification forest walks.

Greenheart Place
This simple off-the-grid sanctuary is an idyllic retreat for any nature lovers hoping for a little more than sleeping on the ground. There’s a small wood-burning stove and private deck set inside the dense forest on a hillside.
There’s also a glamping tent available. It’s basic but spacious with two double beds inside, a covered shelter overhead, a picnic table, and a fire pit right outside.
The private access trails to the AT and Max Patch are a beautiful bonus here, and on the scenic grounds, you’ll find a meditation garden, orchards, and permaculture farm. From here they grow and sell fruits, veggies, jams, and sauces.
Pisgah National Forest is very close as well, which is home to some amazing wilderness and waterfalls. It’s the perfect personal retreat near Asheville, prime for some personal restoration in nature.

Butterfly Farm Sanctuary
Located in Canton, NC, the Butterfly Farm Sanctuary is just as dreamy as it sounds. Set on a private 22 acres pasture among the Smoky Mountaintops, there lies a charming treehouse to rent. It’s 320 square feet, with a compost toilet, stocked kitchen, and the water is obtained from the fresh spring just outside.
Earthseed is another option. It’s a spacious tent, complete with a queen-size bed and dual decks as well as a bathroom, cooking area, and communal space next to it. There’s also a very modern and super comfortable room to rent called Cocoon.
The farm itself is designed as a sacred spiritual retreat space, so it’s best to venture here if really seeking some healing. Nourishment for the soul among nature, they host many guided workshops as well. Nearby, there’s the Gorges State Park and the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site, so there’s plenty to see and do in the area.

Franny’s Farm
Eco cabins and glamp sites abound at Franny’s Farm. It’s located in Leicester which is super close to Asheville, and the rolling pasture landscape is both spacious and serene.
Overlooking the organic farm and gardens, the cabin offers a fully furnished comfortable bedroom and the glampsites have permanent tents set up for you to bring your own sleeping arrangements. Both have access to a fully equipped shared kitchen, fire pit, bathroom, and chill space.
Also available to rent out is the Roost for a more full-service rustic chic experience. There’s a whole adorable menagerie on-site, with chickens, turkeys, sheep, pigs, donkeys, and goats (which you can also do yoga with!), as well as plenty of native wildlife.

Brahma Ridge Event Center offers some of the finest glamping around. To take it a step further, they also have modern cabins available on-site, which include impressive mountain views and a hot tub.
The entire space is heavily wooded with rolling green pastures as far as the eye can see. There are bell tents with decks, which are really the bread and butter of the glamping world here, plus hot showers and bathrooms conveniently close by.
There’s a community building at the heart of the space, so you’re sure to find plenty of chill spots to relax and soak up the scenery around the property. It’s a very peaceful place, with only the sounds of local wildlife breaking the silence of spectacular starry nights.

Nantahala Yurts
Set alongside the scenic Nantahala Gorge, lay an array of adorable Mongolian-style tents to rent. It’s the perfect base for some of the outdoor adventures and waterfall chasing in and around Asheville, such as ziplining and rafting. It’s also close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a haven for hiking in the area.
