Set inside a cozy warehouse, Fireforge is a fan favorite of the Greenville Breweries. Right in the heart of downtown just steps away from Main St., it’s an accessible oasis within the city and one of the best things to do in Greenville.
There’s a beautiful Biergarten and garage for outdoor and open-air seating, and even furry friends are welcome here. They often host local live music as well, which adds to the vibrant yet laid-back atmosphere.
The bar serves over 15 tasty taps at any given time, all brewed on-site. The names are almost as impressive as the small-batch beers themselves, with titles like Irrational Confidence IPA. There’s always a new and inventive twist happening here, some you just have to try to believe, such as the highly recommended Perlin’s Ghost Pepper Ale.

Housed in the old Claussen Bakery, the Eighth State Brewing Company puts their own creative spin on everything, from the beer to the food to the space it’s easily one of the most amazing breweries in Greenville.
Every draft label is carefully designed, and it’s a really fun place to order a curated flight based on flavor since there are so many cool craft beers on deck here, like the Haze for Days Flight or the Darkest Night Flight. They often collaborate with other breweries for exciting concoctions and have guest beers featured as well.
The smoothie hard seltzer series is scrumptious, and a unique take on the now trendy boozy beverage. Wine and cocktails are also available if brewed beverages are not your forte, and the food menu has some equally exciting offerings. The Filthy Mac and Cheese and the Noodle Bowl are some of the best eats in the entire city.

Located within the cute cultural haven of Hampton Station, this adorable ale project fits right in. They use a more classic approach to making cool beers with a focus on farmhouse and Saison-style drafts for an overall progressively old school approach to craft beer.
The barrel-aged series is also very special. The breezy lawn is a lovely spot to soak up some sunshine and enjoy a pint, and inside the urban farmhouse, taproom is warm and welcoming with a modern rustic feel.
If you’re a fan of sours, then this is the spot for you, and it’s a super common stop-off from the legendary Swamp Rabbit Trail. Experiential beers with balance, nuance, and depth, the Paper Airplanes Wild Ale is just one incredible pick out of many here.

Double Stamp is a mecca for everything ’90s, for anyone hoping to live out their best pre-Y2K life and enjoy some super fun brews. Everything from the furnishings to music to the draft names includes a cultural reference from the era, adding to the whimsical atmosphere.
They’re set close to downtown and even share a parking lot with Home Team BBQ (which thankfully you can order right from the taproom) and a zipline adventure park.
The small rooftop patio is the perfect little oasis to enjoy sweeping vistas, a fresh breeze, and of course some fantastic craft drafts. They host many community events like yoga classes and trivia nights so be sure to check their calendar.
The Pretty Bird Hazy Pale Ale comes highly recommended, and we loved the Show Me The Money Pilsner as well.
Liability Brewing Company

What began as a home brewing hobby, has since blossomed into one of the best Greenville Breweries around. It’s located inside a beautifully renovated historic building that was once the Battery and Electric Company.
There are 16 taps to try here, with a wide range of styles and flavors, so there really is a pint for every preference from sours to IPAs to porters. You’ll always be sure to find a fresh and fun new beer to try at Liability.
There are also several enticing eateries right next door, including World Piece and Moe’s Original Bar B Que. It’s a spacious setting with relaxing indoor and outdoor spots to post up with a drink. The Ted Danzig Schwarbitzer is both drinkable and delicious, as is the delightful Stainless Steel Magnolias Kolsch.

One of the largest breweries in Greenville, Think Tank is a welcome new addition to the beer scene in the city. Hundreds of craft aficionados crowd here to enjoy all the newest and coolest concoctions.
There are over 20 brews on tap at any given time, featuring an always eclectic array of styles and flavor profiles. It’s along the famous Swamp-Rabbit Trail, so they even offer grab-and-go drinks as well.
The full food menu is just as much of a draw as the drinks here, with an amazing Old World Plate option of bratwurst, because what goes better with beer? The spacious garden is great for outdoor gatherings, playing yard games, and participating in any of the entertainment events they may be hosting here.

A true local haunt, Swamp Rabbit Brewery acts as the watering-hole of the community, and we love to see it. They often have events, like Taproom Trivia or live music performances that make for a lively atmosphere.
The down-to-earth setting is comfortable with a small outdoor patio and lovely roll-up garage door feature. It’s located trailside in Travelers Rest but has become a part of the Greenville scene as it’s closely connected by its namesake throughway.

An original establishment for craft beers in the area, Thomas Creek was one of the very first to open in the Upstate in 1998. The standard roster is strong here with IPAs, ales, and stouts, along with some more inventive specialty brews that rotate in.
You’ll find their beers being sold widely all around town, but the cozy taproom is fun to visit and there’s always an enjoyable surprise on tap to try, plus a cute little patio space as well.
You can also make an appointment to take a tour of the impressive family-owned facilities and get a peek behind the scenes where all the brewing magic happens. Every small batch is handcrafted using pristine Blue Ridge Mountain water, making each beer feel very special.
The Deepwater Doppelbock Lager is a delicious draft, with options to order a half-pint, pint, or growler.
Tetrad Brewing Company

Tetrad Brewing uses time-honored techniques to brew their beers, making many classic styles with a bit of a modern twist. The name comes as an homage to the theme of fours in the owner’s lives, such as the four ingredients they use to make all their classic craft drafts: malt, water, hops, and yeast.
It’s one of the coziest joints in town, and many food trucks are often parked on-site so dogs are allowed inside and out.
The coveted Almost Gone is a historical beer, a Chicha Morada Peruvian-style Ale. The craveable Cascadian Eclipse is a Black IPA, both citrusy and piney with some sweet malt flavors brewed in.

This self-proclaimed farmhouse brewery is known for making unique and carefully crafted ales, meads, and ciders. The ambiance is rustic meets industrial, for an all-around charming experience. All the ingredients used are sourced locally. The outdoor space is stunning, full of food trucks, picnic tables, hammocks, live music, and lawn games like corn hole and bocce ball.
They have two locations, one in the neighboring adorable town of Anderson and the other now in downtown Greenville. It’s located at Poe West in the West Village. The Komet Belgian IPA, Dat Peach Weisse, and the Nacht Reaper, an imperial stout brewed with Carolina Reaper peppers, are a few of the stand-out specialty brews available here.

An instant classic in the Upstate beer world, Pangea is located in the Commons at the heart of Greenville. They offer a solid lineup of ales, lagers, and sours year-round as well as some special seasonal brews. They’re bringing the world together one beer at a time, and we’re just happy to be a part of the equation, well on the drinking end of the deal at least.
The Melon-Dramatic Gose and White Thaiger Wheat are some superior drafts here. Committed to sustainability and community, they have a strong ethos surrounding supporting their community.
For the tea totalers, there are also non-alcoholic kombuchas and craft sodas. It’s also one of the best places to enjoy a bite to eat, as everything is made from scratch in their kitchen, that’s complete with a wood-fired brick oven, using all the same locally sourced ingredients as their beautiful brews.

Southernside Brewing Company is an expansive space set right along the scenic Swamp Rabbit Trail. The Stay Fly Rye Pale, the Cash Rules vanilla cream ale, and the Tonight, Tonight spiced latte brown ale are all amazing pints to taste test here.
They also serve up a full menu of elevated Southern comfort fares, like the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Bourbon Bacon Jam Burger. Unlike some other breweries they have a full bar as well, and fun, seasonal cocktails like the Elderflower Sweet and Sour. Live music is a common occurrence here, with beloved local acts taking the stage.
The Velo Fellow
A quaint and quirky public house, the Velo Fellow, is a bit off the beaten brewery path in Greenville. It’s a British-style pub that lies just underneath Main St. and boasts an old-world ambiance with a flair that feels you’ve arrived across the pond.
They have live music, trivia nights, and a full menu of gourmet plates that pair perfectly with a cold pint like the Fish and Chips.
In the late mornings and early afternoons, they serve up a very lovely brunch that includes the classic cocktails and delightful Southern dishes like the Fried Green Tomato Benedict and the Shrimp and Grits.
There are ten rotating local taps and six interesting brews that they make on-site, such as the Chamomile and Chill.
